Selah Salon and Spa was born after owners Scott and Carmen Cash purchased the family business from Carmen’s dad in July of 2017. Carmen’s father, Greg, opened Selah Salon and Spa in New Castle in 1976, the year before Carmen was born.
Both Carmen and Scott went to Ball State University. Scott graduated with a Marketing and Sales degree and Carmen with a family and consumer science degree with a focus on Nutrition. After college, Carmen began working for Mary Kay. She quickly rose to the top to become a successful sales director gaining experience in cosmetics as well as earning the iconic pink Cadillac.
In the meantime, Carmen’s dad, Greg, was building his second successful Beauty Salon in Greenfield, IN. Carmen wanted to be a part of the building process and became more interested in the family business. Making a hard decision to quit her successful career. The Lord gave her peace and shifted her desire and she went to hair school (something she desired to do since grade school).
The Lord led Carmen to go to work at the New Castle salon a few days a week doing hair, not intending to take over the salon. When she got back to the salon it felt like home! After working for a few years, Carmen and Scott decided to buy the family business in July 2017.
Carmen and Scott are high school sweethearts and both graduated from a local high school, Tri High. They have been faithfully married for 16 years & are raising their four children here in New Castle. Carmen loves her church family at New Covenant Worship Center, raising her beautiful children, reading, coaching young women and teens, and shopping (of course).
Carmen and Scott are really excited to see the great things God does with Selah Salon and Spa. They are inspired to help the community to come to Selah for a “pause” from the rat race of life and get refreshed!!
