Our History

Selah Salon and Spa became family-owned in July 2017 when Scott and Carmen Cash purchased the business from Carmen’s father, Greg, who originally opened Selah in New Castle in 1976.

Both Scott and Carmen attended Ball State University—Scott earning a degree in Marketing and Sales, and Carmen in Family and Consumer Science with a focus on Nutrition. After college, Carmen built a successful career with Mary Kay, becoming a sales director and earning the iconic pink Cadillac.

As Greg expanded his salon business, Carmen felt called back to her roots. After much prayer, she left her career, followed a lifelong dream, and attended hair school. What began as working a few days a week at the New Castle salon quickly felt like home, leading Carmen and Scott to purchase the family business.

High school sweethearts and married for 23 years, Scott and Carmen have raised their family in New Castle and remain deeply involved in their church and community. They are excited to see what God continues to do through Selah Salon and Spa—creating a place where guests can pause, be refreshed, and feel renewed.
